The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has arrested Sadiq Agro Chairman Imran Hossain. He was arrested around noon on Monday (March 3). CID Chief Additional Inspector General of Police Md. Matiur Rahman Sheikh confirmed this information to Channel 24.
He said that Imran Hossain was arrested from the capital. A press conference will be held on Tuesday (March 4) to provide details.
The CID said that there is a case of embezzlement of Tk 133 crore against him. He was arrested in that case.For allegedly smuggling Tk 133 crore, Imran Hossain, Touhidul Alam Zenith, and the accused business Sadiq Agro are all facing charges from the CID's Financial Crime Unit. In addition to importing illegal Brahma cattle against government laws and smuggling small Bhutti cows from Bhutan and Nepal into Bangladesh for sale, the company was also found guilty of defrauding and forgery.
