In the 1920s, Belgian workers used to go deep into the ground to extract coal using elevators.  To develop the country, they worked hard to extract coal from deep.  The Belgian government appointed many workers to mine coal at that time.  Coal mining is one of the many steps taken to revive the political recession economy.  Coal workers had fair councils and their living standards were brutal.  At the end of their work, they had to wear their dirty clothes because it was very difficult to lift the coal which made it difficult to breathe inside the depths.
